Day Three: Second Meeting

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday our team had attended the second meeting with IRDA (Iskandar Regional Development & Authority). The meeting is overall discussed about the detail objective and expectation of both project (Foreign Worker Enclave & Community Complex) . Besides, we also asked them if they have any digital map of the five flagship of Iskandar area and also other related information such as the population, infrastructure, road information, statistic and others.

AGENDA

1. Opening

The meeting was started by Mr. Abdul Rahman.  He introduced to us the new project community, Mr. Jamil from Flagship Development and Ms. Hafizah from GIS Department.

2. Confirmation of the last meeting

Mr. Abdul Rahman recap on the discussion on the last meeting and explain again about the idea to all. Mr. Abdul Rahman also explain roughly on the idea to Mr. Jamil and Ms. Hafizah because they are not in the last meeting.

3. Matters arising

• Mr. Abdul Rahman explain again on the purpose of the project where for the foreign enclave, the main purpose is to identify the location to put the foreign worker enclave. Meanwhile, the purpose of community complex project is to locate a community complex at the suitable place for community to use for multipurpose activities.
• He also said that the objective of the two project is quit similar but the purpose is different.
• Christian asked some question regarding the available map in IRDA and some related data where might be in IRDA's data collection.
• We also need an authorization letter from IRDA to support our any outdoor activities and IRDA confirmed that they will provide the authorization letter for us.

4. Discussion

• Ms. Hafizah has confirmed that they have all the data needed and are able to give the data to us to be used in this two project. She also asked us to list down all the data needed so she can prepare all the data in the next meeting.
• Mr. Jamil talked about the place to refer to get some information such as Town and Country Planning Peninsular Malaysia, past research and city council. He also asked what kind of method do we want to use to do this project.
• Mrs. Suhaily was explained that the community complex is suppose to have a court for games, room for classes and a bigger hall for functions. So, it is  actually an enhanced version of community complex compare to existing community hall.
• Mr. Abdul Rahman reminded us that the expectation from this given project is to us to use our knowledge  and skills and put in the project. He also want us to came out with a good product and also the complete report for IRDA.

5. Final decision

We and IRDA committee will start to work together and IRDA committee will guide us in this project. IRDA also is looking forward to see our program planning in the next meeting.

6. Other matters

• Mr. Saidan is responsible to coordinate us along the project time period. In order to make some notices or book a room to work, we have to inform to he earlier.
• A visitor pass also will be given to us in order to make the accessing process in and out from IRDA easier.

7. Next meeting

The next meeting will be on Monday (13 June 2011) and the time will be inform later by Mr. Saidan.
